Greenbyte Ideas

Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.

The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.

How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
formal customer interviews and other research activities
events like conferences and trade shows
comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.

Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Site activity: show primary comment when hovering over a specific site access

At the moment, when you over the personel, you see a pop-up appearing with the names of all registered persons on that windturbine. It would safe us a lot of time if you can also see the reason of the activity (primary comment) when you hover over the site access

  2. Make it easier to keep the status event start end end e-mails apart

E-mail notifications are in plain text at the start and the end of a status event.
The header is the same in both cases, which is not comfortable.

The first word of the header of the second email, when the status is resolved, should be "RESOLVED" or something similar.
In that way one would easily differentiate between an initial status event an the end of this event.

  3. Monitoring performance of a wind farm with a time span that currently do not exist

I wish to create a dashboard which will contain visuals showing the data of the following time span:

    • "Last civil month / year" (different from last 30 days / last 365 days) : if today is August 20th, "last civil month" is from July 1st to July 31st

    • "Contractual year to date" : year to date data starting from the first day of the contractual year (e.g February 1st for a contractual year going from February 1st Y to January 31st Y+1)

Thanks for your feedback, this is a great request. It’s open for voting from other users.

  4. Revenue budget

Such as we have Revenue figures in the system, they would be more meaningful if we also had the Revenue budget (such as the energy budget), which would be simply applying the same fix price per MWh to the energy budget already available in the platform

  5. Site access: Track user information for site access comments #50591

We need the information who has created/edited a task or site access. This is important because different people in the control room are working on the same task and also for the project managers to know who to ask.

  6. HSE Export

Add an "Export" option under the "Planned/HSE" tab. Have the option to choose which HSE items to export by state- either resolved or unresolved, as well as by site. Have an option to select the date range.

  7. Curtailing park output to max MW

Due to various reasons there is a need to curtail the park output to a max MW for a given period of time. E.g. when TSO imposes grid constraints (grid maintenance or grid capacity issues).

The park level max should also be modelled top-down. I.e. not scale on turbine level.

  8. Methods for potential powers

Methods currently implemented for the calculation of potential powers are not state-of-the-art.
It would be great if more methods were implemented, like the power-to-power method that Greenbyte wrote a white paper about a couple of years ago, methods involving Machine Learning, methods using learnt power curves computed based on wind speeds from a meteorological model, learnt power curves by wind direction sector with biased nacelle wind speeds measured during stops being rebuilt from data of reference turbines, etc.

  9. I would like to see the Max.Power ever produced (wind turbine, park, portfolio level)

    Hi all,
in order to reflect the maximum power ever produced a new KPI is required. I tried to use the Max.Power signal in GB, but this is not the correct tag to display the max. power output (for a wind turbine, park or portfolio).

  11. Lost production of statuses in the API should follow the selected period

For the Status endpoint, statuses overlapping over start date and/or end date should only take that part of the Lost production value that corresponds to the selected time interval.

Otherwise the Lost production does not match what you can see in the platform, e g in Data Studio, for the same time interval.

  12. Compare curtailment loss % for different periods

I would like to ask you to make a feature to calculate and make visual tools to know "time-based curtailment loss".

As the background of this request, currently, we are getting many grid curtailments and want to compare the degree of them in different sites.
We can see the amount of production-based loss on Greenbyte, however, we can't see the time-based losses so it's difficult to do a comparison between different sites.

So we request you to set up features like the below:
    - calculate time-based curtailment loss(%), day by day, week to week, month to month, year to year.…

  13. Everyone who has access to Personnel can edit, delete and add new personnel

The list of the personnel is available for the whole portfolio, it would be useful if we could split this list (considering the region or wind farm level), maybe using the Site induction or adding another fild in the registration.

  14. Annotation of power curves in Report widgets

Please set visual annotations and different colors for each power curves.

Even I split the widget per turbine, current visual annotations seem like not enough for me.

For example, I understood that a blue line on the widget is learned PC of selected time span, but the visual annotation is just saying the name of Site and we can't identify exactly what it means so I need to write an explanation about it manually in Reports.

So, could you set visual annotations to show real names of selected power curves?

  15. Time intervals

When exporting data it would be very useful if there were a section that allowed the user to export by date and time rather than just by a start and end date. This is especially ideal for times when I pull large datasets where I only need a few hours of the day rather than the whole day and it causes my download file to be four times larger than it needed to be.

  16. Improving the display on the portfolio dashboard map

Currently the ring chart with the real time power is not clearly visible because it is superimposed on the map.

  17. YTD Widget

We have a situation where we track our KPIs using a custom dashboard and widget to display such figures as Production and Budget YTD.

When an asset is taken over in the middle of a production year, and the data gets backfilled, the widget no longer accurately reflects the YTD production for the time the asset has been under our ownership.

E g if we take over an asset in May, but data is available since January, the YTD widget currently displays the production for the asset from January.
In the scenario above we would want the widget to only…

  18. HSE incident status option in the HSE table widget

We need the possibility to list only HSE cases of a certain status (resolved - unresolved) in the report HSE table widget. Currently it is not possible to have a table in the reports listing only the open = "unresolved" HSE cases.

  19. Show number of files for a task

Get the document symbol for the number of files/documents uploaded in a task, so you can get a good overview of what tasks have documents uploaded (i.e Boroscopy reports) without having a separate tracker.

  20. Create a specific degradation factor for the first year

The solar panels manufacturers commonly warranty a different degradation factor for the first year than for the following ones (see example attached: a 3% degradation is expected for the first year, then a 0.706% factor for year 2 to 25).
Could you create a separate degradation factor for the first year of operations?
