Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.


The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.


How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.


Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Options for Mass Edit in Status Log and Status Categorisation (2)

    With reference to the implemented mass edit options as requested in "Options for Mass Edit in Status Log and Status Categorisation", one is missing: the "Delete" option.

  2. Run/Ready status auto grouping

    To gain a lot of time when scrolling down the status of a certain period of time, it would be great if the "Run" and "Ready" (or "Turbine OK") status could be automatically groupped when they are successive.

  3. Flagging of user changed categories and default categories of exported data

    It would be great if the exported data from Greenbyte would flag statuscodes where the contract category got changed by the user. This flagging could be implemented by exporting another column of data or even better be a new data point in the status item at API level.
    Greenbyte by itself already shows this by putting a "(D)" in front of the contract category. However this information is lost when exporting the data.

  4. 'Mass Edit' on 'Component' level in 'Status Categorization'

    It is not possible to 'Mass Edit' on 'Component' level in 'Status Categorization'. This could literally save me several hours of work each month.

  5. Door Sensors on Vestas turbines

    We have door sensors installed on our newer Vestas turbines. Right now they are being logged in the operational log under each turbine and there is no way to import them in to Greenbyte.

    It would be great if that was made possible.

  6. Turbine real time production overview

    Make it possible to see a windfarms real time production and then when you expand it you can see it for single turbine. 1 s data if possible.

  7. Make it possible to manually edit the end time of a status event

    There are instances when the end time of a status event in Greenbyte is not correct.

    For example, if a turbine is stopped and loses communication with Greenbyte. The end timestamp of the stop event will often appear in Greenbyte as the same timestamp that the communication outage was fixed. In reality, the stop event code may have occurred earlier than that (Greenbyte just didn't know, since communications weren't active).

    The only fix today is for the user to contact Greenbyte support and request the change be made by them. This is inefficient and can be particularly cumbersome when working…

  8. Searching in the status category on certain text is not possible

    We noticed for instance many pitch related errors for a wind farm.
    We needed an overview of all those related errors. It seems that many different related errors had all the word “pitch” in the error description. But in Greenbyte I cannot filter on a description “pitch” and report all losses to those specific errors.

  9. Priority of statuses

    When several statuses happens at the same time, the system often chooses the wrong status as the main status. If it is possible to priority statuses over eachother, it would reduce the time chaning status (and categorisation)
    Example, Repair and Maintenance should go before Idling at turbine

  11. Export/Import Status Categorization

    The ability to export the status categorization page to an excel file and import bulk changes would make large/frequent changes to the status categorization easier for some users.

  12. status code pie

    I would like to have a pie chart similar to the lost production per category but instead, have one for hours per status codes and lost production per status code. There is currently only a table for this and it would be nice to have the pie chart as well.

  13. Rename status events

    I would like to know if you can introduce a feature whereby we can be able to rename the status events? Especially all events that are stop events or code 6 on the Nordex system. Sometimes code 6 is associated with errors and not stops and we would like to show them as such so that we can report correctly

  14. I can't filter manually-modified statuses

    Both in Status Log and Status Categorization, I would like to filter in or out the manually-modified statuses so I can better focus on them.

  15. renaming statuses

    renaming statuses - I would like a feature where you can be able to rename the FM6/ manual stops and give them error, warning or any code of your choice. this is very hand for analysis and checking which status had the biggest impact instead of just having a manual stop event

  16. Create active status events

    It is sometimes necessary to create active status events in GEC, normally during periods of no communications. Although this is not an option when creating status events, there was a work-around that has recently been disabled. As a result we now have to contact the support team to create active status events.

    Having this functionality as an option would improve our internal reporting and also reduce the number of requests sent to Greenbyte support team.

    Considering the current architecture of the system, this is not possible to achieve. We will look into it and determine if we could consider something on these lines for the future.

  17. Make it easier to share my filtered Status Categorization view with others

    The filtering capabilities within the Status Categorization are very useful. However, it's difficult to share with others what exactly you're looking at. Quite often users will have several layers of Filters applied, it's cumbersome to type out exactly which filters you have applied.

    In Dashboards and Data Studio it is really quick and easy to share what you're looking at by using the Share Link button. However, there's no quick and easy way to share your current view in Status Categorization.

    Having a way to quickly share Status Categorization views would improve the user experience.

  18. filter on unknown status code

    New status codes implemented by the OEM and retrieve from the scada status event list which are not in the EnergyCloud status event list are marked as 'Unknown status code'.

    It would be usefull to be able to filter on this in order to see which status code need an update in the EnergyCloud Status event list.

  19. Enable support for statuses with 'Informational' category to be displayed with the 'Active Status Events' widget

    The 'Active Status Events' widget currently has the option to select the 'Informational' status events under the 'Categories' dropdown menu, however, this selection seems to not work.
    This should work in order to display status events for devices where all type of events are important to see in the monitor section, like for instance, breaker/switches positions in an electrical substation

  20. Status Code lists : management and additional information

    Make the status code list used in the platform portal editable.

    Now we notice quiet some mistakes or receive updates of the status event by the OEM and always have to through support to update them. In a monitoring environment this updates can take to long to be implemented. It would be usefull to add the management of those lists to the portal including following options :

    • adding or deleting list
    • changing the name of the status list
    • adding or deleting status events
    • renaming the status codes
    • adding additional information to status code like OEM description / Operator instructions or…
