Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.


The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.


How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.


Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Need legend in report widget

    Please see my latest report done for site starting with A (for month of May) See section "Tasks - scheduled downtime".
    One can only see the legend during edit, it's not visible in the final report.
    It is vital to have the legend in order for the report to make sense.
    I added a screenshot of the legend from edit mode to solve this temporarily but I really find this is something that needs to be fixed as soon as possible!

  5. reporting

    It would be useful if there was a widget that reported Operating hours and Downtime hours in a table or in the "Signal Bar Table". The Dirty Dozen widget has some of these functions but with the lack of filtering its not clear and looks unprofessional in the reports.

    We also mean that using the Hours per category widget, selecting Stops (Downtime), resolves this need.

  6. Reporting Terminology

    It would be useful if you had the option to manually change the reporting terminology. For example our clients do not recognise the the terminology "Time-based Availability (Global).

  7. Page breaks in report notes sections

    The notes sections in reports have limited functionality which could be improved greatly if there was an option to insert page breaks rather than having to estimate where these will appear once the report is generated

  8. Make "Multi-year Average" widget suitable for Energy signals

    This widget currently presents averages of data. This is not suitable for Energy signals, and this would probably be one of the most useful use cases (comparing the energy from this year against other years).

  9. Include Swedish as a choosable language when generating reports

    Would it be possible to add Swedish to the list of chooseable languages when generating reports?

  10. Add a text field after a table widget in a Custom section

    Currently it is possible to insert text only before a table widget (Custom section).

    I need to insert text after tables.

  11. Make it possible to clone/copy report templates

    Right now, if a user wants to create a report template that is similar to an existing report template, but not identical, they must create a new template from scratch. This is very time consuming. Adding the ability to clone/copy an existing report template would increase the value of Greenbyte's Reporting feature by significantly reducing the time required to create new report templates.

  12. Custom Sections to update with given name in Edit page

    Using "Custom Sections" to build report, and naming my chapters/sections accordingly. But when I'm back at the first edit page it still says just "Custom Section" so when I want to add another custom section and/or changing order of the ones I already have I can't see which one is which!!
    Please fix this!

  13. Widget: Key Metrics - need to be able to choose MW vs GW and show all budgets

    1) Budgets shows in MWh but Energy Export in GWh - I'd like to be able to choose MWh Energy Export as well.
    2) If I include more than 1 budget in this widget, the % number under Energy Export is still compared to Default budget.
    Either add calculations for the other budgets chosen or remove that line altogether when more than 1 budget is included in widget.

  14. Display separately the power curves of a same turbine in the reports (and data studio)

    We would like to display separately each power curves of a curtailed turbine in the reports with the associated data. Right now, we can only display all or some power curves on the same graph. And if we do not display one power curve, the curtailed data still displayed because it seems that they are not linked to this specific power curve.

  15. Add possibility to insert traffic light -symbols in the reports

    Add possibility to insert traffic light -symbols (green, yellow and red circles) to the tables in the free text fields in the reports.

  17. Add a feature to the Report section for HSE issues recorded

    The ability to generate a Bar Chart in a report which illustrates the numbers for the different issues which have been recorded in the HSE section for each month with a year to date (YTD) figure alongside it. Also include a bar representing the issues which have been resolved YTD. Rough example provided.

  18. Reports - Overview section list of assets

    In the Overview (predefined) section of the Reports, the assets of the report are listed. However, this list is limited to 20 assets, and if there are more than that, the system groups them and the section only indicates "21+ devices". It would be very useful to increase this number to e.g. 50 devices.

  19. Add a "Navigation Panel" For Report Editing Window

    In "Edit & Preview Report" popup,
    add to the left-hand-side a Navigation Panel that contains bookmarks of the report headings.

    Purpose is to quickly navigate to sections of the report without the need of scrolling.
    (keyboard is disabled for report navigation e.g. PageUp, Home, etc)
