Greenbyte Ideas

Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.

The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.

How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
formal customer interviews and other research activities
events like conferences and trade shows
comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.

Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Fix date intervals on Dashboard - Greenbyte

    Hello,

right now the default by all the wind parks every time we open one with the Analyze funtion is that it shows the values of the whole year. More often than not however, we want to see the monthly results. We can change it on the top but then if we change to another park it goes back to show us the yearly results. As you can understand, this is ok when we do it for two parks, but when we want to see results of 20 parks it gets a bit tiresome. Is there any way of getting…

  2. Farm name- dirty dozen widget- portfolio view

In the widget "dirty dozen" in the portfolio view, it could be useful to display the name of the windfarm of the turbine stopped, instead of just the type of turbine, so that the information easily by other people besides the asset managers, who doesn't know the exact type of the turbines of each plant.

  3. Visually simplify the comparison between power and potential power by merging the two widgets into one

It would be useful to visually simplify the comparison between power and potential power by merging the two widgets into one: potential power could be represented by an indicator on the power bar. Currently, having two separate metrics with not always equal dimensions makes the comparison less untuitive.

  5. Allowing the status box to remain open to select more than one status to add to the task when editing

To allow the status box to remain open so we can click more than one status to link to the task as some wind farms have a lot of wind turbines and in the example attached i had to open the status box 49 times (49 turbines) to select each turbine when the full site went down with no comms (which is one task that requires all the status's from each turbine linked to it)

  6. Option "today" in time-span for "sum over time" widget

We use a "sum over time widget" in order to monitor the hourly production of the present day, but in the time-span menu is not available this option. Every day we change this point using the custom interval option. Would be possible add the option for "today" in time-span for this type of widgets?

  7. Add a new filter button/flag to simplify repetitive filter selection over and over again.

Could you add in on the portfolio view, a UK flag/button we can select to automatically show all uk assets. Currently we have to click "filter", then click "UK", then click "select", then click "all turbines." 4 click task which is repeated multiple times over and over throughout the day.

Portfolio always refreshes to all worldwide assets whenever it reloads the page after saving a status acknowledgement or commenting on a task. If there was a one click method to filter this to UK it would benefit us as its a very repetitive task throughout the day. :)

This is a lovely idea, it will not come to fruition this year though. For now we refer to the function to create country specific dashboards for quicker overview of assets per country/area/customer etc.

    Kind regards Greenbyte Team

  8. Having the widget "site acces actif" next to the stop code and communication issue alerts

It would be great to have the blue widget, which shows that someone is working at the turbine when an alarm appears in the "UNACKNOWLEDGED STOP CODES" or "UNACKNOWLEDGED COMMUNICATION ISSUES"
We can see that in the column on the left side of the monitor.
When technicians are working on the turbine they, most oft he time, stop the tubrine and/or disconnect the communication. Some minutes after appears a new issue in the UNACKNOWLEDGED STOP CODES or in UNACKNOWLEDGED COMMUNICATION ISSUES

We have great new features lined up that we can't wait to share with you. Unfortunately this request is not part of the roadmap.

As already e-mailed a couple of months ago, using a normal sorting consecutively in the side bar would cover for the use case here.

  9. Create "Master Dashboard" with flexible Widges depending WTG technology & related signals

When I create a techn. analysis dashboard with its widgets for one WTG type, this dashboard cannot be fully used for other WTG types as some of the used signals (related to certain WTG components) might simply not be available / published. The consequence: widgets stay empty.

One workaround could be to create dashboards per WTG type with the consequence a) it's lots of work (also in the later administration of changes) and b) selection of wind farm and dashboard must be in-line.

Suggestion: Could a "Master dashboard" be generated, covering a certain WTG technology (e.g. gearbox type) incl. all…

  10. Aggregation of Inverters into Inverter stations

    Hello,

Would it be possible to aggregate Inverters in particular String inverter on a dashboard so they show as inverter stations?

    I.e

    Inverters 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 display data as Inverter station 1 (IS1)

and so on for all inverter stations based on the metadata.

This would be particularly useful as it is very difficult to look at graphs of string inverters that cover a site of 50+ string inverters.

    Regards,

    Calum

  12. Curtailment verification feature

A large proportion of curtailments are not correctly implemented in the turbines. Making sure turbines are curtailed at the right time and right environmental conditions is very important, but also difficult and time consuming.
It can be vital as in extreme cases permits can be revoked for failure to comply with the conditions of the permit.
It would be great to automatize this process. The idea would be to check the actual curtailment (from turbine statuses) against a predefined schedule (time of year, of week, of day, could be sunrise/sunset too) + conditions on signals (can be wind speed, wind…

  13. Can't see which turbine in "Turbine status" widget that's affected

It's very hard in the turbine status widget to see which turbine is affected by a warning or error since our naming convention starts with the project name, for example "Häjsberget" and then the turbine number.

So, I'm wondering. Instead of seeing just "Häjsb..." for all turbines in this windfarm in the park. Could we either get the turbine number included or a possibility to remove the "ID" column in the widget and get some more space or perhaps display a turbine "nick name" or alias that we set ourselv instead?

I'd like it to show either "Häj...14" or if…

  15. Add table widgets/reports with columns containing different time intervals

Please add tables with columns containing different time intervals, for example to quickly have a view on the availability for all months (separately) during the past year and a final column with sum/average.
Columns would then contain different turbines/wind farms.
It would also be interesting to see the individual turbine availability in rows after the corresponding farm availability.

  16. Scatter Plot for Bright Platform Widgets and Data Studio

The addition of Scatter Plots (similar to what is currently available in Breeze) for the Bright platform to allow data analytics for metrics such as Performance Index v Irradiance, or Current vs Voltage on sub-dc monitoring channels

Good news! This is already possible. The metadata fields available is totally customizable, so we can add whatever fields you want. Contact support@greenbyte.com and they can help you add the field you need.

  18. Add a "copy" feature to dashboard windows

In the hamburger button in the upper right corner of each window in the dashboard, add a "copy" feature to quickly copy a picture of the contents of the window (chart, graph, etc) to the clipboard in order to easily and cleanly paste the information into an email or document.

    Hi,

Most dashboard widgets, via the hamburger icon, can be opened up directly in Data Studio. From Data Studio, via the hamburger icon, you can export the widget as an image.

  19. Make multi-year average widget type available in Analyze section Dashboards

The multi-year average widget is useful for comparing how a given year has turned out relative to previous years. Currently, it is only available in Reports. Users would value being able to use it in the Analyze section throughout the year.

  20. Make it possible to use a designed widget (under monitoring) to pick multiple turbines

If i want to make a power versus wind widget, i have to make for all the turbines a separate widget. (duplicate, this takes a lot of time)
I would like to opt as data studio that you can pick multilple turbines in a widget and than split it again.

(or even better, just make all the option of data studio possible in monitoring )
