Greenbyte Ideas

Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.

The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.

How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
formal customer interviews and other research activities
events like conferences and trade shows
comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.

Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Add "exclude data" functionality in Dashboards and Data Studio

When I am in a dashboard or Data Studio, and I select a custom time span (e.g. 19/03/2020 to 19/03/2021) with an aggregation per month, the platform will still return the full value for the months of March 2020 and 2021.

The Reports have a feature to "exclude data" that does exactly what I would need here - excluding the data from 01-18/03/2020 and from 20-31/03/2021.
Currently there is no way around but aggregating per week/day, but that still doesn't allow me to see March as 1 figure.

  2. Add 'Today' as a preselect for the Power Forecast

Question related to production forecast. For signal power forecast the time span (one day period) is missing. The only option is to choose custome time interval, but it result in a constant reedition widget with the new day. Whether such an implementation is possible?

  3. Permanently save filtered turbines in dashboard view

We have a bunch of turbines, where we only save site accesses and device accesses. We are not meant to monitor these sites.

I tried to filter the turbines in the dashboard that we need to monitor. However, every time you reload the dashboard, the filtered turbines get reset to "All".

To avoid having all turbines on our dashboard, it makes it necessary to edit every single widget and to filter turbines that we don't want to monitor.

We do have several widgets and it would make it easier to have the possibility to filter all at the same time.

  4. Add expand/collapse button in the "active status events" dashboard widget to be able to edit main status (which has often already ended)

The problem is that the main status is often already ended and other status hide behind the the main one. This often happens during longer "order by authority" stopps, which seems be externally controlled, however often there is an additional new and active stopp behing.

It would be very helpful for daily monitoring to have all statuses expandable in the active status events widget. This would make it possible to view the statuses within the group and to edit all the "active status events" which have updated active statuses.

Attached you will find a graphical example of not active main…

  5. Be able to select past contractual years

"Contractual year" exists, this is great. I would also like to selected "past" contractual years.

  6. Monitoring performance of a wind farm with a time span that currently do not exist

I wish to create a dashboard which will contain visuals showing the data of the following time span:

    • "Last civil month / year" (different from last 30 days / last 365 days) : if today is August 20th, "last civil month" is from July 1st to July 31st

    • "Contractual year to date" : year to date data starting from the first day of the contractual year (e.g February 1st for a contractual year going from February 1st Y to January 31st Y+1)

  7. Make 'hours per category' (component) table available in Taxonomy

For availability contracts Greenbyte provides a widget called 'hours per category' in table format. This makes it very easy to copy the data into excel.

Taxonomy does not have this functionality though! We can only look at downtime per component as a pie chart.

Being able to show it in a table format and quickly copy/paste this data over to excel for further analysis and reporting (e.g. GADS reporting).

  8. Add site/device access icon from sidebar in widgets

For monitoring turbines, it would we very helpful to have the site/device access icon or similar pictogramm able to be shown within the monitor / portfolio / stops after having connected a device / site access to a stop code. See attached file.

  9. Add status filters To Dirty Dozen

Please can you add status code filters to the dirty dozen. Currently if i look at the top 5 stops on some sites it includes manual stops or / pauses over RCS (Vestas machines) I would like the option to exclude these, so we are able to focus on looking at the most common faults.

  10. Filter templates

It would be nice to have the option to create a filter template/preset. For instance: I only monitor certain parks/turbines. Now I have to manually select these in the filter. It would be nice to be able to create filter presets, so I can filter my turbines with 1 click.

  11. add extra information icon available to status code

I would be usefull to include an extra icon displaying a pop-up with extra information on a certainstatus code. This would improveinterpretation of certain status codes that only appear very limted.

This would involve also creating an extra information field to the status code overview under administrate/contract/status code

  12. Hide or remove widget informations

We would like to be able to choose which information we want to hide or display on the widgets.
For example, for the "Real-Time Wind Turbine Metrics" widget we do not want to display the column of the icon and the ID.

  13. Comment Widget

It would be very useful to have a single widget that could compile all comments made associated with a site or device. The widget could be configured with "comment signals" Much like widgets are currently configured for device specific signals. A comment widget could compile the comments from Tasks - Site access - Device access - or just site notes and comments. It could possibly function similar to a chat box where users could tag users or groups in their comment to alert them or to follow certain threads or topics. This would help our teams communicate better while also…

  14. Upload emergency plans in Breeze

It would be nice if emergency plans could be uploaded as a PDF in Breeze. It should then be able to put that on a dashboard of a wind turbine for example or be able to view it from 'Monitor wind turbine.

  16. Reports/ Power curves - allow to change/fix the scale of the x- and y-axis

x-axis: right now it is scaled automatically accoring to the wind speed data points - i. e. we sometimes have differently scaled power curves in the same report. Instead the x-axis should be fixed (e.g. according to the reference power curve)

y-axis: we would like to show negative power values in order to show stops for some turbine types (e.g. Vestas) - where the power becomes negative if the turbine is stopped.

  17. Have different colors automatically applied to temperatures-related graphs

For graphs displaying temperature related values - set up an automatic range of colors from blue to red - depending on the temperatures variations (blue being the coolest and red the hottest)

  18. Data Studio: Compare different time intervals - i.e. years

We would like to be able to set up a graph comparing devices or farms values over different years (annaul average values and same month values over different years) - both in data studio and "analyze" dashboard.

  19. Data Studio: Additional features for Dirty Dozen

When selecting dirty dozen in the data studio - the overview should be maximized so scrolling down is not needed. Secondly - a new feature would be benificial when the posibility is there to click on the error code or message description to zoom in on which turbines this event occured in the selected period.

  20. Analyze Dashboard: custom interval+zoomable graphs

Make it possible to set and a custom interval in Analyse Dashboards - in order to review what happened during a specific interval. In addition to the above it would be very usefull if the same zoom functionalities could be used as in Datastudio to zoom into a certain period. This way the user does not have to open each graph seperately in datastudio to do the zoom actions but it can be done directly from the analyses dashboard.
