Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.


The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.


How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.


Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  2. Email specified persons when site access records are created

    Could we please set up a notification to be able to email specified persons when site access records are created. ie one of our Asset managers would like to be emailed when a site access record is created for the wind farm he is responsible for.

  3. Status Categorization miscelaneous filtering option

    Detailed description
    A few suggestions related to Status Categorization:

    1 - Be able to filter out Status Codes from being displayed. I may not want to see irrelevant status (untwisting) or too frequent status (curtailment) Same as filtering out status with time < xx 1 Add a Task combo to easily apply a Task to a Status Code (same as with Contract Category)

    2 - Bulk Assingment. Add a checkbox next to Status Code so you can select several Status and apply the same configuration at once (Contract Category - Comment)

    A widget for the site access in Monitor > portfolio - wind Farms - windturbine

    Aktive site access
    site access that is longer than the task

  5. User created content rights should be administrated not only by creator (Templates - Custom Dahsboards - etc.)

    As currently implemented - user created content such as Report Templates - Custom Dashboards - etc. - can only be administrated (VIEW and EDIT rights) by the creator.

    Problems:

    team work limited
    deleted users creates "zombie" Reports/Dashboards that cannot be administrated by anyone
    Suggestions:

    Users of the Administrators group should always have access to these settings - everywhere
    A third right could be added: VIEW/EDIT/ADMINISTRATE and distributed by creator/administrators among users

  6. Ability to export only overdue site access via the API

    We can export the site access via the API but it would be great if we could filter the overdue site access in the export.

  7. Export Data - Time Intervals selection

    It would help a lot if Greenbyte can add "Yesterday" as an option so that creating a daily report for us doesn't need to select dates everytime.

  8. Put Alerts in report

    Alerts are really useful, but there is currently no way to display them in reports. It would be great to put an alert log widget in the reports (like the status log). This would make our reports more complete, and allow us to track alerts that would be recurring on certain devices.

  9. conditional powercurve

    For conditional power curves it would be nice to have the following options:
    1. copy the default values to conditonal power curve for editing, that saves time entering the values manually.
    2. it would be nice to add a condition: to be able to give a start date + time and end date + time. Currently if curtailment starts at 10:00 at day 1 and ends at 16:00 at day 5 it requires you to manually enter the conditional power curve 3 times!

  10. Display availability in status log

    It would be great if, in the status log (the one in data studio), one would be able to see how much one stop/status affects the availability for that turbine during the given month or period.

    This would significantly facilitate the process of comparing the data in Greenbyte to that of the service provider.

  11. Status changes trazability via API

    when it comes to refreshing a status database via API, it is quite challenging to update manual changes in the status (i.e, category changes, group structure change, manually added stops that change the group structure,,,)

    Would be great to have in the API some way to trace those changes. For example, "last modified" point in the API would already help. It would also be nice to know if the event was added manually, see image.

  12. Plain text notifications for Alerts

    For Stops Greenbyte can email notifications in plain text format that are easily processible for other systems (unlike the HTML type messages with nice layout). I would like this to be extended to Alerts, shouldn't be a large job I guess??

  13. Target availability on Wind Farm level

    We have a target availability on the Wind Farm and on the Wind Turbine level. It would have been better to have both as the target is not accurate when using only wind turbine level in our case.

  14. Be able to select past contractual years

    "Contractual year" exists, this is great. I would also like to selected "past" contractual years.

  15. 30 minute resolution data, this would match how revenue meter data is supplied

    I want to see 30 minute resolution data, this would match how revenue meter data is supplied and could be compared directly against SCADA for anomalies

  16. status categorization direct form the task> view page

    It would be nice if the status could be categorized from the task > view page.
    For now you create a task, add some status codes and than you have to go back to the status categorization, search for the status and than categorize it.
    that seems to me a unnecessary long way to do it.

  17. Make 'hours per category' (component) table available in Taxonomy

    For availability contracts Greenbyte provides a widget called 'hours per category' in table format. This makes it very easy to copy the data into excel.

    Taxonomy does not have this functionality though! We can only look at downtime per component as a pie chart.

    Being able to show it in a table format and quickly copy/paste this data over to excel for further analysis and reporting (e.g. GADS reporting).

  19. Add new modifiable Production-based System Availability signal

    Add a new, additional availability signal called “Corrected Production-based System Availability Estimate”, that we could modify so that we could fully exclude from the availability calculation certain days for certain turbines (related to e.g. insurance cases, grid outages etc). Otherwise the availability should be an identical copy of the standard Production-based System Availability. We would need to have the possibility to later adjust the lengths of those excluded historical time periods several times, as our estimates get more accurate in time, and the availability calculation should be instantly updated accordingly.   20. Reports/ Power curves - allow to change/fix the scale of the x- and y-axis

    x-axis: right now it is scaled automatically accoring to the wind speed data points - i. e. we sometimes have differently scaled power curves in the same report. Instead the x-axis should be fixed (e.g. according to the reference power curve)

    y-axis: we would like to show negative power values in order to show stops for some turbine types (e.g. Vestas) - where the power becomes negative if the turbine is stopped.
