Greenbyte Ideas

Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.

The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.

How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
formal customer interviews and other research activities
events like conferences and trade shows
comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.

Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Counter of status code per WTG

It will be quite interesting to see how often a certain alarm code occurs in a wind turbine.
Currently there is no counter in the status log or Data studio in order to generate an overview of number of occurances for a particular status code.

  2. Add status filters To Dirty Dozen

Please can you add status code filters to the dirty dozen. Currently if i look at the top 5 stops on some sites it includes manual stops or / pauses over RCS (Vestas machines) I would like the option to exclude these, so we are able to focus on looking at the most common faults.

  3. Link Site Access to Device Access

At the end of the day when booking multiple teams off the same site - clicking 'Log Off' on the site access should automatically log off and transfer back control of all active Device Accesses. Otherwise you have to log each device access off first and then the site access.

  4. Device Access - Log Multiple Device Access at Once

Add 'Save and Log Device Access' option to all Device Accesses. When logging a Site Access - there is an option at the bottom to 'Save and Log Device Access'. This is very convenient - however if you have multiple teams booking onto different devices at once - there is no 'Save and Log Device Access' in the subsequent 'Device Access' window that appears. Instead you have to 'View' the site access and log the second device access that way which is just wasted additional clicks.

  5. Personnel: Upload All Certificates

Ability to upload all Health & Safety Certs to individual personal with expiry dates as is already the case with inductions.

  6. Set up rules for automatic data export and forwarding by mail

Use case: I have to send twice a week 3-4 days of operational data of a certain set of WTGs to the client. Would be amazing to be able to implement a rule that runs the job in the background: data is downloaded and forwarded to an email address automatically.

  7. Make all device power curves available from the API

Currently only the default power curves for each device are available via the API. It would be good to be able to extract all of the power curves assigned to a device

Thanks for your feedback, this is a great request. It’s open for voting from other users.

  8. Add 'Year to date' and 'all' time selector

I feel like existing Data Studio pre-default time selectors are not enough to cover all most typical situations. I end up selecting a 'year to date' custom period very often, so it would be very good to have that in place.
Also, for verification purposes it would be nice to have an 'all time' time selector, which will take all data available since TimestampStart of the device to date.

  9. Proper calculation of time-base availability when data is missing

As off today, if 10-minutes data are missing for some reason (scada issue for example), then this period is just not taken into account for contractual availability calculation and for system availability calculation. This is an issue because in many case, when accessing the turbines, the maintenance technicians will shut down the communication to prevent remote restart of the turbine, and this loss of communication will also trigger wrong availability calculation.
We expect time-based availability to be based on the period duration, not the 10-min data being there or not, and during data losses, the turbine should be considered available.…

  10. Delete specific user from site access

When editing an open site access log, make it possible to delete a specific user log from the site access - At the moment when adding people to an open site access log, if you select the wrong person by mistake it is not possible to amend that log. Instead we currently have to set the log off time to the same as the log on time - It would be a lot more useful to be able to delete the incorrect persons details so that they do not show at all.

  12. Add indication to overdue site/device access

When there is an overdue site/device access, this is indicated by a red balloon in the sidebar next to the "problematic" asset. However, it is not so easy to find exact record in the Site Access screen that contains overdue device access. It would be logical to indicate respective entries with the same red balloon (both in overviewing Site Access screen and inside specific access details).

  13. Display totals in Status logs

    In Status Categorization,
1- why don't you display the losses together with the downtimes for each line?
2- then could you display the total of losses and downtimes for what is on display (and thus filtered)?
It could be very useful so to know the total of losses and downtimes for a specific downtime code by example, or any other filtered downtimes

  14. Select Availability Category Within Task

When creating a task there is an option that may be selected that is labeled "Affects Downtime". If this option is enabled, the availability contract categories should appear and one should be assigned to the task.

This would be useful for sites that are utilizing tasks to coordinate site work.

  16. Electrical Losses/ Electrical Performance Index

Can you please add a calculated Index to the Data Studio to calculate the percentage of loss energy from the internal cable network on the site. It needs to be (Meter Export Energy divided by Virtual Production) – 1 and presented as a percentage? It would fit in the PERFORMANCE group with Performance Index.

  17. WTSR: See who transferred control of a turbine back in

You can currently see who has created a site access log or transferred a turbine 'Out'. Would it also be possible to show who transfers a turbine back 'in' - and logs site access logs as closed?

  18. Device Access - Same technician on multiple devices

At present you can book a single technician on multiple devices. WTSRs allow only one turbine to be under the control of one AT/team so that proper AWP/ROP procedures are followed. Breeze should not allow users to release multiple turbines under the control of one person.

  19. Add additional equations for calculating Energetic Availability based on specific OEM contracts

It would be extremely useful to be able to create custom availability contracts that use different methods for calculating lost production and energetic availability.

  20. Export weather forecast data

Exporting weather forecast data has to be done in API which is a bit complicated.

Weather forecast data should be able to download from "Export data" as well
