Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.


The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.


How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.


Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Edit Data Exports

    Incorporate the ability to edit existing data exports. Sometimes an option is set by mistake. Instead of creating a new data export from scratch it would be beneficial to open a previous export to make the minor change.

  2. Scatter Plot for Bright Platform Widgets and Data Studio

    The addition of Scatter Plots (similar to what is currently available in Breeze) for the Bright platform to allow data analytics for metrics such as Performance Index v Irradiance, or Current vs Voltage on sub-dc monitoring channels

    Since there is a workaround for this specific use case, we won’t add this request to our roadmap.

  3. Contractual maintenance hours

    Contractual agreements may define a fixed number of hours of scheduled maintenance as Available. It seems this is not supported by Greenbyte yet. Please add.

  4. Calculate Energy Theoretical from different sources of Potential Power

    Today, Energy Theoretical is only calculated from the first source of Potential Power in the assigned Potential Power Order. It would be good to have, such as we have different Potential Power signals, to get the Energy Theoretical from all of these sources.

  6. Project manager entry in meta data

    Dear Greenbyte,
    the meta data entries are very helpful, but would it possible to add the project manager additionally to the deputy project manager?

    Good news! This is already possible. The metadata fields available is totally customizable, so we can add whatever fields you want. Contact support@greenbyte.com and they can help you add the field you need.

  7. Reminder notifications for Tasks

    When using the Task module, a "Reminder" feature would send an email out to recipients a certain time in advance of important works going ahead e.g. an upcoming grid outage, to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming event.

    Good news: This is already possible! On your task categories, you can configure default reminders for the category. Those can be overridden on individual tasks.

  9. Add X-Y graphs in data studio

    Please add the option to choose two variables and display them against each other. Currently only time is default selected as X variable.

  10. Remove pageSize limitation or set it to none by default

    When trying to get the statuses data I was surprised to see a pageSize parameter which was not present for data request. What is the point to have a pageSize limit here as usually when you request data for a specific time interval you would usually want the full data/statuses for this specific interval?

  11. REMIT compliant view in Breeze

    We would need to prevent access to certain kind of information for some of our Breeze users, and wish that we could be able customize their view to be REMIT compliant. This could mean for example removing the possibility to view the current, near past (~1 hour) and future output of the power plant, while allowing access to wind and temperature data.

  12. Add a "Severity"/"Category" field for alerts

    It would be really helpful to be able to categorize alerts ( "HSE" , "Main Components", "Performance", etc...) or at least be able to label them with a "Severity" level : Critical / Major / Minor etc.

  13. Turbines Coordinates

    Develop a easy way to download WTGs coordinate from the Map (coud be interesting to be able to download coordinates for each Turbine one by one).

  14. Add a "copy" feature to dashboard windows

    In the hamburger button in the upper right corner of each window in the dashboard, add a "copy" feature to quickly copy a picture of the contents of the window (chart, graph, etc) to the clipboard in order to easily and cleanly paste the information into an email or document.

    Hi,

    Most dashboard widgets, via the hamburger icon, can be opened up directly in Data Studio. From Data Studio, via the hamburger icon, you can export the widget as an image.

  15. component in status categorization

    There is a feature in status categorization where you can assign every turbine stop to a certain component. No additional analyses can be done on these components. It is also not possible to export this tag and perform analyses that way. would it be possible to export the component tag for every stop?

  16. Export/Import Status Categorization

    The ability to export the status categorization page to an excel file and import bulk changes would make large/frequent changes to the status categorization easier for some users.

  18. status code pie

    I would like to have a pie chart similar to the lost production per category but instead, have one for hours per status codes and lost production per status code. There is currently only a table for this and it would be nice to have the pie chart as well.

  19. point out previous task with the same error

    Point out previous task with the same error
    For Example the encoder of a rotor blade doesn't work right. You send out a team that resets the encoder and it's working again and you close the task.
    A bit time passes and the encoder fails again. Then it would be nice to have an information which task include the same error and which task was the last task that solve the error.

  20. Rename status events

    I would like to know if you can introduce a feature whereby we can be able to rename the status events? Especially all events that are stop events or code 6 on the Nordex system. Sometimes code 6 is associated with errors and not stops and we would like to show them as such so that we can report correctly
