Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.


The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.


How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.


Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Electrical losses between inverters and grid meter

  4. In case of multiple site report : Possibility to display markers for each plant (and not the aggregated value of the portfolio)

    We would like to display each plant metadata and not the portfolio aggregated value. For example: I have a portfolio of two farms named A and B. A has a capacity of 10 MW and B has a capacity of 15 MW. By selecting Selected Site > Total capacity > MW it will give 25 MW. Would it be possible to choose metadata per plant and display then : A : 10 MW B : 15 MW Thanks

    It would save a great time if the widgets could be scrolled up or down in their section.

  6. Task with Active status Vs Non-active/No Status

    It would be useful to see a visual difference between tasks that have an active status associated with them versus tasks that don't have an active status. This could be done similarly to how stops and warnings are red or yellow. A task that is associated with a status that is currently active should have one color and a task with no active statuses could be a different color. This would help our operators identify tasks that may need to be resolved due to the condition being corrected or no longer present.

  7. Lost Production to Other/Wind Speed

    Deviation from budget is explained by Wind Speed - Performance - Downtime - Data Availability and Unexplained. Breeze currently calculates Performance and Downtime - it would be very helpful for it to be able to show the remaining deviation (which can be labelled as Lost Production to Wind Speed and/or Lost Production to Other). Deviation due to Wind Speed can be calculated in a number of ways - some of which are very simple e.g. difference between budget and theoretical. On a monthly and yearly level as a minimum.

    Instead of this solution, we are building the capability to break down losses into various categories like shading, soiling, electrical losses, tracker issues, combiner box issues, turbine component failures, etc.

    We believe that this information is more relevant and actionable, so we have moved away from focusing on breaking down losses in relation to forecasted figures.

    However, we are in the process of building a feature which provides the deviation from the forecasted figures; for example deviation between actual and forecasted irradiation.

  8. Data Studio - Sortable table or Mouse over identification

    Trying to identify solar devices in a large array using device data. Would be very helpful if either the graphs would allow for mouse over identification or a toggle button was implemented to switch between a graph and a table.

  9. Use delay function of notifications also in monitoring dashboards

    In notifications there is the option to select a delay - i. e. that statuses shorter than the selected time will not cause a notification to be sent. This would also be a great feature for the monitoring dashboards - especially for the control room. We would use it for stops like cable unwinding or battery test which only become relevant if the turbine is stopped for longer time - e. g. > 1 h.

  10. Manual anemometer wind speed correction function per wind turbine

    Allow to manually adjust a linear (y=ax+b) anemometer correction function per wind turbine (would be nice to have also per 30o direction sector) . So the wind speed you see in all the data is the adjusted one.

  11. Reports: front page image

    Front page image can now only be set on a per windfarm basis and then be called within Generate Report menu.

    We'd like to set front pages on a per report basis. Ex: all reports generated from the Monthly Report template should share the same front page - all reports from the Annual Report template should share the same front page - etc.

  12. Reporting: Possibility to choose metadata wind turbines using the marker system

    We need the possibility to choose the metadata fields of "wind turbines" in the menu Markers -> selected devices -> Metadata. At the Moment that is only possible for "wind farm" metadate using the menu Markers -> selected sites -> Metadata (see picture)

  13. Undo button

    Like the title indikates: an undo button would be nice

    Example Task:

    You type in everything (title - start/end - Description and so on ). Then you click on the start/end to double check the timespan. In that moment a meteor smash into your window and you accidentally click on a other date. The date from before the meteor crash is gone and you can't undo it. You'll probably have to search for the date again and choose it again with the marvelous datepicker.

  15. Active Alarms viewable in Analyze Sight dashboards

    Please make Active Alarms widget viewable in Analyze Site dashboard. This would make the Analyze site a "one stop shop" function for site analysis improving efficiency in troubleshooting.

  18. User Permissions: Share tasks (READ ONLY) with limited users and clients

    We have created limited users and clients with access to limited functions. We like to add the tasks without the possibility to edit the tasks or commands. In this way clients will be updated with the latest status of a task - but have no access to it.
