Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.


The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.


How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.


Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Add 'ID' in list of windturbines

    Add 'ID' in list of windturbines in order to have a better overview and administration of your asset. now you have to click on edit in order to view serial number "ID"

  3. Search Administrate/Users by Company name

    Currently the Administrate/Users section can be searched by Name and Email, but not by company name. Would be useful if users could search by company name.

  4. Export Statuslog only

    Make it easy in the "Monitor, Statuslog" view to export the presented logs from your selection.

    Today you can only export the status log if you also export data signals from the "Share, Export Data". And then you get the full log from the selected time frame.

  5. Add a field to HSE Observations to show a date of when they have been resolved.

    HSE observations show a date that they were created but they do not show a date when the slider is set to resolved. Please add this feature as it is necessary for auditing to know when the observation was resolved.

  7. Performance Index to exclude curtailment events

    Performance Index is calculated during periods where the System Availability is 100%.
    This period of time include curtailment or when Maximum Export Capacity (refereed in Breeze as "Utility set point") is below the total wind farm power output potential.
    Therefore, a "Custom Key Performance Index" feature to create a Performance Index to considering these externalizes would solve this oversight.

  11. Alerts for Repeated Status Codes

    At present you can only configure an alert to be created when a SPECIFIC status code repeats a set amount of times. Instead you should be able to configure an alert that is created when ANY status code repeats a set amount of times. This is because you do not necessarily know which specific status code will become a repetative nuisance.
    I primarily have in mind stop codes that occur for very brief periods and can be missed in our general notification scheme. However this could also apply to warnings (e.g. if a gearbox oil filter full warning occurs multiple…

  12. Include option to add data signals to status logs

    It would be extremely useful if you could download the status logs for a site but also include certain data signals in the log.

    For example it would be extremely useful to be able to see windspeeds, bearing temperature etc at the time of specific stops.

  13. Include specific status code filtering in the data studio alongside other parameters

    I have a particular status code which we are seeing many occurences of stopping the turbines - I would like to see what the wind direction / nacelle position was at the time of these faults. It is not currently possible to filter for specific status codes in the data studio. At the moment I have to filter for this specific status code in the status log - Then use the times I see in the status log to filter in the data studio or export data and use external tools.   14. Plan | Task | Mail to the Assignee when the task is created

    When somebody is creating a task for anthoer user - it would be nice to inform the other user that there is a new task on his stack. Example: ohn Doe creates a task for Max Mustermann. The task is about control a specific process. Than John have to write a E-Mail with the link to the task and because it's not nice to send an email with only a link in it (spam filter) John writes a email with a subject and have to type an emil conform description… So it would be nice when the system send this…

    Great news! This is available in Greenbyte. You can define default task notifications that email the assignee upon task creation.

  15. subcategory wind farms ie Batches of a wind farm in Breeze

    For a big wind farm we would like to be able to pick sub-batches in Breeze. So in Data Studio or when building widgets in the asset picker (also in side bar) it would be possible to look at a whole wind farm but also batches of a wind farm. Example: Wind Farm Bertil > Bertil Batch 1 > 30 turbines > Bertil Batch 2 > 30 turbines > Bertil Batch 3 > 30 turbines > Bertil Batch 4 > 30 turbines

    Good news! It is now possible to set up a more customized asset tree structure for your portfolio that enables this type of selection. Please contact your CSM for more information on how to set this up.

  16. If no energy data from the inverters - ability to calculate PR or availability from the power values integrated over time

    Calculate energy from the power data (integrate the power over time to have energy in case where the energy values were not transmitted from the scada) - and then use this value for PR calculation and availability calculation.

    Both in Solar (inverters, meters) and Wind (turbines) the calculations should use fallback between power and energy depending on which is available.

    Some improvements to this fallback for solar will be released next week (2020-02-10). Look out for updates in the “Whats new” section in the docs. The solar update will affect Time-based availability and Lost production to Downtime.

    I would like to quickly minimize or maximize a widget on a dashboard by double clicking on the 3-bar-menu-botton.

  18. If tasks is linked to single turbine/device make device name make hyperlink to monitoring page

    If a taks is linked to a single device/wind turbine - there should be a link to the monitoring page of that device - similar to the hyperlinks in active status event widget. This way it becomes possible to go to a device direcly from the task widget. In the current design you have to check the name of the device in the task widget - search for the device name in the sidebar - then using 3dot menu go to monitoring page of the device - this is a very time consuming process.

  19. Exclude Alerts in Monitoring Dashboards

    We have the following problem with Alerts: most of the Alerts we have shall not be monitored by our control room but only by the project managers / analysts. I.e. we would like to exclude certain alerts in the monitoring dashboard for the control room. Such an option does exist for the active status dashboard - but is missing for the alerts.

  20. API status call to include active statuses within set timeframe

    Change the way status log API calls are run to include statuses that have a start date before the given timestamp - that are either active or have ended within the given timeframe. When using an API call for statuses within a set timeframe - any active statuses that occur before the start date of the call are not included. Likewise any status that occurs before the start date and ends within the set timeframe are not included either.
